Happy New Year’s Eve!
With a fresh new year on the horizon, we’re excited to share that we’re bringing back an old favorite series of content: ah.mi interviews.
These stories (see past interviews here!) will showcase our diverse community of ah.mi subscribers and how they’re making health & wellness a priority while juggling real life. Many of our subscribers are founders, business owners, parents, creatives, and just downright entertaining people, so we knew we had to bring this back.
Make sure you scroll to the end of this first one for a reminder of how you can join us for our annual Super Clean January challenge!
Now, let’s get into it…
Meet Jenni Shwartz.
Jenni is the Founder of branding and design studio, Solmark Creative, and dedicated ah.mi subscriber whose transformative health journey began in January 2024.
As a work-from-home entrepreneur, wife, and mother of two, Jenni has rediscovered her strength and confidence this year and proven that lasting change comes from patience, self-compassion, and finding joy in the process.
Jenni's approach to wellness embodies the supportive, judgment-free spirit of the ah.mi community. Get to know Jenni’s story below:
What drew you to ah.mi?
I was drawn to ah.mi because it’s such a supportive community. It’s all about lifting each other up, celebrating wins, and sharing real life challenges. It’s a non-judgemental space where you can say, ‘I look great in these jeans’ and no one thinks you’re bragging—they’re just happy for you. I also love working out with local ah.mi members and sharing our favorite classes and studios. Being a part of the community gives you an instant connection because you know you’re all working toward similar goals (with the occasional side of fries).
Why wasn’t anything working previously?
Nothing was working because I kept going on ‘diets’—quick fixes that weren’t sustainable and were usually tied to some upcoming event like a reunion or vacation. For years, I was stuck in this cycle of losing and gaining the same 5 pounds over and over.
What physical and mental changes have you noticed?
Physically, I feel like myself again for the first time since having kids - only stronger! Hi, abs! I’ve missed you. Mentally, the biggest shift has been in my self-confidence. I used to stress so much over what to wear, trying on multiple outfits before defaulting to the same black thing I always wore. Not doing that anymore feels so freeing!
How did your mindset change?
My mindset shifted from thinking, ‘Well, this is just the post-kids me,’ to, ‘Holy shit, I can actually do this!’ Once I started seeing results and realized that change was actually possible, I just kept going.
What have been your biggest changes?
I traded:
Light resistance for heavy weights
Cardio classes for long walks
Intermittent fasting for a nutritious breakfast
“Low-fat” diet food for all kinds of protein…and LOTS of it!
Any funny stories or moments you want to share that you’ve experienced on this journey?
With a handful of other ah.mi members, I joined the 4-month nutrition program with Kayla, where we tracked our macros. I’ll admit, I hit some tracking fatigue about halfway through, but this ah.mi-led program was such an eye-opener. I learned so much about how our bodies process food, why depriving yourself doesn’t work long-term, and how to make frothy protein coffee - mmmmmm…
How do you stay committed and consistent?
Seeing results and feeling good is what keeps me on track. Of course, I have slip-ups—it happens! But I’ve learned to be gentle on myself and recognize that it’s okay. Plus, when I eat like crap or don’t move my body, I physically feel blah, which is a good reminder to make healthy choices.
What is your “why” ?
My ‘why’ is all about longevity! As a woman in her mid-40s (yep, true story), I know the choices I’m making now are what will keep me strong and feeling good in the future for both myself and my family.
Anything else you want to share?
Since January 2024, I’ve made impactful yet realistic lifestyle changes—so cliché, I know. The progress has been slow and steady, losing 1–2 pounds a month, and feels very sustainable. No quick fixes or shortcuts, just staying consistent and a whole lot of patience. Making small changes add up!
Thanks for sharing your story, Jenni!
