Ok you're inspiring me to revisit this early wake up!!! My husband gets up at 4 (sometimes 3:30, talk about deranged!) and I just struggle to do it so much! My oura ring tells me im a "late morning type" which makes me feel better about my failed early ams, but if the activities include TRR, opening packages, and coffee... somehow it all sounds more compelling! :)

Oh I so want to do this!! But Zach goes to bed at 9am and I don’t know how to go to sleep before 11p bc I just love my time at night…. Quiet like this magic hour just time for me.. but I love the idea of switching it around to do it in the am. Certainly seems healthier option

A nighttime magic hour works too! Because I wake up so early it’s hard for me to stay up past 9/930 now 😴

Rachel! You may have just convinced me to get up earlier. This was such a treat to read. You’re recalling coming into your own as a writer ❤️

When I worked at the hotel, I had to be there by 5:30am- I used to arrive around 4:30 just so I could have the peace of the ocean and tbe stillness of the hotel - it really was magical. Since I stopped working there I have not seen 4:30am. Maybe I’ll give it a try one day soon.

Power to the magic hour! I started doing the same (my magic time is 445, idk why) in 2017 and I lost it between pregnancies, postpartum, life overwhelm. I gradually reincorporated it last fall and as of January my body is just on this cycle and it's so great. For me, it always means that I'm in bed at 9pm and if I'm not I'm toast. Life changes for me when early morning wake ups are in the mix but the tradeoff is a no brainer for me now.

I think the morning routine crowd elicits eye rolls from folks who's chronotype is peace and productivity later at night. The world is built for the early birds and I genuinely feel bad for folks who experience the opposite!
